| Greetings District 19 Residents and Friends,
It is an honor to serve as the president of the
District 19 Democratic Club and to help represent the interests of legislative
District 19 in Montgomery County and in the state of Maryland. As our Vision and Mission Statements
indicate, we are committed to engaging a diverse community in a transparent
democratic process. To accomplish our
mission the Club provides a forum in which district residents can interact
directly and transparently with elected officials, increases awareness about
public policies and events impacting the district, advocates on behalf of
district residents within the Democratic Party, and ensures the Democratic
Party in District 19, as well as Montgomery County and Maryland continue to represent
the best interests of District 19 residents.
The remainder of this year and 2012 promises to be a
very exciting and important time for Democrats in Maryland. A presidential campaign and a number of
important state and local contests provide abundant opportunities to engage and
to shape our future. Our ability to
achieve the Club’s ambitious goals and to positively impact our community
requires the active participation and input of District 19 residents. If you have not already become a member, join
now. If you have not attended a meeting,
stop by. If you have a friend or
neighbor who wants to get involved, pass along our information.
The Club is fortunate to have a dedicated and
experienced Executive Board to guide its activities. With their
assistance and your involvement, I look forward to leading this organization
for the benefit of all our residents.
